Bike For Bobby will see the duo cycle from Lisbon to Newcastle via Porto, Eindhoven, Ipswich and London (Fulham and Wembley) as they pay tribute to Sir Bobby and his incredible work as a football manager of international repute.
Travelling more than 3,500 miles in less than four weeks Robbie and Phil aim to raise thousands of pounds for the foundation’s chosen charities
Phil will be responsible for helping Robbie get used to being back in the saddle, whilst Nick Grantham will be helping Robbie get his fitness levels to where they need to be for the challenging task ahead.
“The ambitious plan is to cover an average of 150 miles a day finishing, of course, at Sir Bobby’s spiritual home of Newcastle United,” said Robbie.
“The problem is I haven’t ridden a bike since I was a kid and I don’t even have a bike! “But Phil has taken on the dual task of getting me fit for action and joining me on what will be the journey of a lifetime.”
